For my research fellowship with the Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media, I contributed to Speculative Relics, an interdisciplinary project exploring how large language models and generative AI can be used to imagine, reconstruct, and critically interpret lost or incomplete cultural artifacts.
My role focused on the project’s 3D and interactive components: I developed AI-assisted visual references, created and refined 3D models in Blender and built interactive viewing experiences in Unity using C#. I also designed the asset pipeline from Blender to Unity, including UV preparation, texture baking, material setup, lighting, and interaction systems that allowed viewers to examine digital artifacts in a gallery-like environment. Through this work, I explored how emerging generative tools can support new forms of cultural visualization while maintaining attention to the ambiguity, incompleteness, and speculative nature of reconstruction.
