Fill the prism in the center with the fireflies that litter the library, brave Keeper. Be careful! Those same fireflies are the lifeblood that keep the light and keep your soul. Without light, you will be lost.
The Light Keeper is a 2D survival game where you must collect light from fireflies around the map to fill the center prism while taking care not to lose all of your own light. Navigate your way through a dark, mysterious library to fulfill your duty as the Light Keeper.
The Light Keeper is built in Unity 6 for an informal game jam in May 2026. I was solely responsible for all programming, implementing a dynamic shrinking light radius system, enemy AI that detects and chases the player within light range, a hold-to-collect interaction system for light collectibles, a central prism power mechanic with visual feedback, quadrant-based random spawning, directional player and enemy animations driven by a custom state machine, scene management with win/lose/death transitions, and a full UI system including menus and in-game prompts. The game was built in collaboration with Samuel Johnson-Noya who created all art and music assets.
