Encore! is a rhythm game and visual novel hybrid developed by Amoriem Labs, the student-run game development studio at Yale University, where players attend the fictional Multiversal Institute for the Rhythmic Arts (MIRA), recruit band members from across different worlds, and build relationships through story-driven interactions while progressing through rhythm-based musical performances. The game blends narrative dialogue, character relationships, and branching story paths with rhythm gameplay, allowing players to unlock new music, instruments, and character interactions as they progress toward competing in a Battle of the Bands.
As Writing Team Lead, I managed a team of 5–6 writers responsible for developing the game’s dialogue, character interactions, and branching narrative structure. I coordinated the writing workflow by organizing story planning, assigning sections of dialogue, and ensuring consistency across multiple narrative paths. I also collaborated closely with the programming team to integrate scripts and narrative assets into the game engine, ensuring that dialogue formatting matched the requirements of the dialogue system and that all narrative content aligned with scene specifications and associated visual assets.
